Théâtre des Champs-Elysées
Located on Avenue Montaigne, the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées attracts almost 300,000 spectators a year and is home to the renowned Orchestre National de France. The opera house was built in 1913 by architects Henry van der Velde and Auguste Perret in the Art Deco style and is now considered a magnificent example of 20th century French architecture. Inside, the building is dominated by works of art by representatives of the Nabi movement between Art Nouveau and Art Deco, while the entire concrete structure is clad in white marble on the outside. Guest performances by famous classical soloists, dance ensembles and symphonic orchestras make up the majority of the program.
