Daniele Gatti
Daniele Gatti studied piano and violin at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Giuseppe Verdi in his hometown of Milan, graduating with a master's degree in composition and conducting. At the age of 27, the famous star conductor made his debut at La Scala in Milan. He then worked at the Gran Teatro La Fenice di Venezia in Venice, the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Berlin State Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. Gatti took up his first job as music director in 1992 with the orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome. From 1994, Gatti was employed as principal guest conductor at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. In 1996, he conducted the New York Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time, and at the same time, the renowned conductor began his tenure as music director of the London-based Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, where he remained until 2009. For the 2008-2009 season, Gatti was music director of the Orchestre National de France, based at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris. In 2008, the exceptional Italian talent made his first impressive appearance as one of the artistic and musical directors at the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth. From 2009 to 2012, Gatti was principal conductor of the Zurich Opera House. Since 2016, the star conductor has been leading the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra.
