Joyce DiDonato

During her school days, Joyce DiDonato wanted to become a pop singer or Broadway star. She studied singing at Wichita State University and graduated from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. Initially, the mezzo-soprano sang minor roles or understudied in operas and operettas at the Santa Fe Opera. In the 1998/1999 season, she made her debut at La Scala in Milan as Angelina in Gioachino Rossini's La Cenerentola. Today, the American artist sings on all major international opera stages and is also successful as a lieder, oratorio, and concert singer.
